Belmont Secondary is getting an artificial-turf field, thanks to the City of Langford.

Existing turf at the city’s Goudy Field is being replaced as part of an upgrade, so it is being given to the Sooke school district for use at Belmont. The Goudy turf still has years of life remaining.

The school’s grass field is already being prepared for the turf to be installed. Installation will likely happen in January.

“We are thankful for our ongoing partnerships with the City of Langford and for this incredible donation to our school community,” Belmont principal Jim Lamond said in a note to students and school families.
