Bear spotted in Saanich Tuesday morning

The second bear sighting in as many days in the capital region was reported in Saanich early this morning.

Saanich police received a call about 12:30 a.m. about a large black bear that was seen in the area of Dysart Road and Gorge Road West, and was last spotted on Carey Road.

The B.C. Conservation Officer Service has been informed.

On Monday, a black bear was seen near the 100-block of View Royal Avenue and in Portage Park. The West Shore RCMP’s initial tweet about the sighting came at 7:45 a.m.
