The incident occurred on the main car deck of the Queen of Cowichan shortly before the 8:25 a.m. sailing from Horseshoe Bay bound for Departure Bay.

The 8:25 a.m. departure from Horseshoe Bay and the 10:40 a.m. sailing from Departure Bay were cancelled.
