On Monday afternoon, B.C. Ferries was reporting sailing waits for motor vehicles at its major terminals — Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen, Horseshoe Bay, Departure Bay and Duke Point.
There were three-sailing waits going from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, and from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay, which eased to one- and two-sailing waits in the evening.
B.C. Ferries says mid-August is especially busy because it’s a changeover time, when many families are either ending their two-week vacations or beginning them.
On its busiest route, Swartz Bay-Tsawwassen, ferries are scheduled to depart on Monday at the top of every hour from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
