Police say some of the 19 people arrested during a drug-related search at a Courtenay home on Thursday could be fined for violating COVID-19 restrictions.
Comox Valley RCMP said they had received several reports of suspicious and potentially criminal activity going on at the house on 20th Street.

Thursday’s search uncovered a firearm, ammunition, property believed to be stolen and suspected drugs, said Street Crimes Unit member Cpl. Jill Swann.
“The members of the Comox Valley RCMP are doing everything they can to address the complaints about this nuisance property, and are hopeful that collaboration with the City of Courtenay will lead to a successful outcome,” she said.
Investigators continue to comb through evidence and will be working to return stolen items to their owners.
Several people are expected to be charnged, police said. Investigators are also exploring the possibility of fines related to COVID-19 restrictions limiting the size of gatherings.
