For the second time in eight days, Chemainus Secondary School was evacuated Friday due to a suspicious fire.
The report of the blaze came in about 1 p.m. Friday, with staff and the school’s about 350 students leaving the building safely.
The fire was in a first-floor student washroom and was put out quickly by firefighters. The cause and the extent of the damage are not yet known.
The incident follows a Feb. 20 fire in a second-floor student washroom.
It led to classes being cancelled Feb. 20 and 21.
