A man charged with second-degree murder in the death of his two daughters made a brief video appearance in B.C. Supreme Court Chambers on Wednesday.
Andrew Berry, 44, is charged in the deaths of Chloe, 6, and Aubrey, 4. The girls’ bodies were found in Berry’s Beach Drive apartment on Christmas Day.
Berry was hospitalized with self-inflicted wounds and arrested when he was released.
It was previously decided that the case will go to trial by direct indictment, meaning there will be no preliminary hearing.
On Wednesday, Crown counsel Patrick Weir indicated in court that he would be seeking a publication ban on further pretrial proceedings.
Berry’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 6, but there is likely to be a conference held in front of a case-management judge prior to that.
