The intersection of Bay Street and Richmond Road across from the Royal Jubilee Hospital offers an open view now that a single-family residence and its high hedges have been taken down.
The house was demolished to make way for a three-storey, seven-unit multi-family project at 2330 Richmond Rd.
The City of Victoria gave the 584-square-metre lot a site-specific rezoning, with site coverage at 50 per cent of the lot compared with the standard 33.3 per cent.
The units must remain rental housing for at least a decade, according to an agreement between owners Oriano and Doris Belusic and the City of Victoria.
