DELTA — A cyclist is dead following a traffic collision in Delta on Tuesday afternoon.
Delta police said the collision happened about 1:30 p.m. near Boundary Bay Airport. A vehicle travelling south on 72nd Street struck a cyclist who had been travelling on 36th Avenue.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
“Emergency Health Services attended, but unfortunately the cyclist did not survive the collision,” said Cris Leykauf, public affairs coordinator for Delta police.
No name was released.
Leykauf said the cyclist’s immediate family have been contacted.
