Quebec police investigate shooting at upscale resort in Laurentians

MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police say at least one person has been shot on the site of an upscale resort in the Laurentians region. Police say the shooting occurred in Estérel, Que., a municipality about 100 kilometres north of Montreal.

MONTREAL — Quebec provincial police say at least one person has been shot on the site of an upscale resort in the Laurentians region.

Police say the shooting occurred in Estérel, Que., a municipality about 100 kilometres north of Montreal.

A police spokeswoman says authorities were alerted to the incident after a 911 call about an armed assault on Fridolin-Simard Road.

Police say preliminary information from the scene is at least one person was struck by gunfire.

Authorities say in a statement the victim was seriously injured but their life wasn't considered to be in danger. 

The provincial force's major crimes unit is investigating.
