Police investigating after man's body found in car set ablaze in Montreal

Montreal police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the trunk of a torched car in the city's east end Saturday night. Police say they received a call around 12:25 a.m. about a car that was set on fire in a park.

Montreal police are investigating after the body of a man was found in the trunk of a torched car in the city's east end Saturday night.

Police say they received a call around 12:25 a.m. about a car that was set on fire in a park.

The body of a man, whose identity has not yet been released, was discovered after firefighters extinguished the flames.

Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant says an autopsy will be performed to identify the man.

Police are still trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.

The homicide is the tenth reported in Montreal since the beginning of the year.
