With just a woman and a dog in a vehicle that was driven into a ditch, there seemed to be no doubt which one was behind the wheel.
But the woman claimed to Comox Valley RCMP that it was the dog who had been driving on Lazo Road in Comox when the incident happened.
The police officer dealing with the woman quickly formed an opinion that the woman’s ability to drive was affected by alcohol.
The woman was issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition for refusing to give a breath sample.
