Victoria police are looking for witnesses with video after a suspect was arrested for assault and mischief Wednesday morning in the 1200-block of Douglas Street, near Yates Street.

Police responded just after 8 a.m. and determined that someone had assaulted a passerby and then smashed a window of a vehicle stopped in traffic.

A suspect was arrested at the scene and held for a court appearance, while the victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe that a person who was in the area filmed the incident with a phone, and anyone with footage is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654, extension 1.
