Victoria police say man arrested getting off ferry with drugs was dealer returning with supplies

Victoria police worked with the RCMP to arrest two people Wednesday as they drove off a ferry at Swartz Bay. The vehicle was searched and police found a suitcase packed with close to $50,000 worth of crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

The vehicle was searched and police found a suitcase packed with close to $50,000 worth of crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

The man and woman had been under surveillance as part of an investigation by the Strikeforce and Street Crime Unit.

Victoria police say the man is a drug dealer who was returning from Vancouver with fresh supplies.

He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday to face drug charges. His female companion is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 7.
