Two men who escaped from William Head prison are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 29. James Busch, 42, and 30-year-old Zachary Armitage escaped from William Head on July 7. Staff realized they were missing during an 11 p.m. head count.

Two men who escaped from William Head prison are scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 29.

James Busch, 42, and 30-year-old Zachary Armitage escaped from William Head on July 7. Staff realized they were missing during an 11 p.m. head count.

The pair was recaptured July 9 after encountering a man who turned out to be an off-duty RCMP officer.

The family of Martin Payne, a Metchosin resident whose body was found in his home July 12, has been waiting for answers about any possible connection to the escape.

No direct links have been announced by police.

A hearing scheduled for Thursday was adjourned.
