Truck Light Convoy to roll through Greater Victoria on Saturday evening (MAP)

Trucks decorated with colourful lights will start leaving Ogden Point at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday

The Truck Light Convoy will hit the streets of Greater Victoria this evening, collecting donations for a trio of local food banks.

The annual parade, put on by the Island Equipment ­Owners Association, features ­commercial trucks decked out in Christmas lights, travelling from downtown Victoria to Langford.

The trucks will leave from the Breakwater District at Ogden Point at 5:45 p.m. and head along Dallas Road to Beach Drive and through Oak Bay, getting to Oak Bay Avenue around 6:30 p.m.

By 7 p.m., the trucks are expected to be at Yates Street at Blanshard Street in Victoria. They will loop through ­downtown, heading toward the West Shore via Douglas Street, the Trans-Canada Highway and the Island Highway.

From Colwood, they will go up Goldstream Avenue to ­Veterans Memorial Parkway (8 p.m.) and Millstream Road, arriving at Western Speedway in ­Langford around 8:30. All times are approximate.

Admission to the speedway is by donation of cash or a non-perishable food item.

Donations benefit the Mustard Seed Street Church, the Goldstream Food Bank and the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank.

Cash donations can be made via the IEOA website, while donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at several locations along the parade route:
