A truck fire on the highway next to Cameron Lake Saturday night spread into nearby brush. The Coombs-Hilliers Volunteer Fire Department was first on the scene, where a 2007 GMC Sierra pickup was engulfed in flames. The Oceanside RCMP also responded, as did workers from both the Ministry of Forests and Ministry of Transportation.
Highway 4 was closed for about two hours and the brush fire was contained.
Both the 57-year-old driver of the pickup and his 22-year-old son escaped uninjured.
