Suspects sought as Canadian gunned down in Philippines

Police in the Philippines say they are looking for two suspects after a New Brunswick man was gunned down at a beach resort in the Southeast Asian country.

Police in the Philippines say they are looking for two suspects after a New Brunswick man was gunned down at a beach resort in the Southeast Asian country.

Spokesman Martin Gamba said 62-year-old Harry Doyle of Fredericton was shot during an altercation last Sunday in Surigao City, the capital of Surigao del Norte province.

Gamba said it's believed two men approached Doyle and asked for something.

He said Doyle was shot after allegedly pushing one of the men.

Gamba says Doyle lived about five kilometres from the beach resort, but it's unclear how long he had been in the Philippines.
