A second man has been arrested in connection with a Nanaimo liquor store robbery in which three masked men held up the Terminal Park store armed with a shotgun and pepper spray.

Chance Kenton Nichol, a 21-year-old Nanaimo man, was arrested Wednesday. He is charged with robbery and intent to commit an indictable offence while having his face masked, said Nanaimo RCMP spokesman Const. Gary O’Brien.

Nichol has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance Feb. 24.

Three masked men entered the B.C. Liquor Store about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 10. One of the men fired a round from the shotgun into the store’s ceiling and another man pepper-sprayed one of the store’s employees.

They fled with no cash but took bottles of wine.

A 20-year-old man was arrested Feb. 8 in connection with the robbery after police responded to a domestic dispute.

Police are looking for the third person involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
