Police are reminding motorists today of road closures for two events in downtown Victoria.

Belleville Street between Thunderbird Park and the B.C. legislature will be closed from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the Walk to End Violence Against Women and Children.

The Indigenous-led Moose Hide Campaign, in its 11th year, continues its campaign to end violence against women and children. The march starts at Thunderbird Park, at the corner of Belleville and Douglas streets, and ends at the Knowledge Totem on the legislature grounds at the corner of Belleville and Menzies streets. There will be speeches at the legislature and a drum dance.

From 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Government Street between Centennial Square and the legislature will be closed for the March for Life. The anti-abortion march will start at Centennial Square and take about 30 minutes to proceed down Government Street to the front lawn of the B.C. legislature, where there will be a rally and speeches.
