Officers investigating the death of a Langford woman hope to speak to anyone who found a cellphone near the Galloping Goose Trail between Christmas Day and Jan. 18.

Raymonde Elder, 59, was found dead in her Selwyn Road home at the Arbutus Ridge Estates mobile home park. Her son, Ryan Robert Elder, was arrested and has been charged with her second-degree murder sometime between Dec. 25 and 31.

At the time of her death, family members said Ryan Elder lived with his mother, but struggled with mental-health issues.

On Friday, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit said officers want to talk to anyone who might have found a cellphone between Dec. 25and Jan. 18 in the area of the Galloping Goose Regional Trail and Atkins Road in Langford, between Veterans Memorial Parkway and Westwind Drive.
