Police warn public after teen sexually assaulted in Esquimalt’s Highrock Park

Victoria police are looking for witnesses after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Esquimalt’s Highrock Park on Friday night.

The teen told police she was walking through Memorial Park toward Highrock Park when a man approached her and began talking about fitness.

After they entered Highrock Park, the man suddenly grabbed the girl and assaulted her, police said.

The girl was able to escape, but the man chased after her, police said. He grabbed her again and sexually assaulted her a second time.

The teen got free and fled. She told police that the man exposed himself as she struggled to get free.

The man is described as tanned or Aboriginal with short brown hair. He was about five-foot-seven with a muscular build, and in his 30s. He was wearing a red T-shirt with a white logo and black athletic pants, and had a white T-shirt on his head. He was carrying a black backpack.
