Saanich police are investigating after a pickup truck driver left the scene of a collision involving an electric scooter.

The crash happened about 8:50 a.m. Nov. 26 at the intersection of Vanalman and Glanford avenues. The scooter rider suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The pickup driver spoke to the rider but didn’t exchange information before leaving, heading east on Vanalman toward the Patricia Bay Highway.

“Motorists are required to remain on scene after a collision, provide assistance if necessary and exchange information with any driver and any other person involved that may be injured,” said Const. Markus Anastasiades.

The driver is described as white and 40 to 50 with grey hair and a grey beard, and was wearing a high-visibility vest.
