Stolen pickup trucks were used in two recent break-ins at Errington businesses, Oceanside RCMP say.

Police responded to an alarm in the 1400-block of the Alberni Highway about 4:40 a.m. May 30. The front doors of the business had been pried open and a large amount of liquor taken.

On Wednesday, an alarm went off in the same area of the highway about 3:30 a.m. The front doors there had also been pried open and cash was stolen, RCMP said.

Police reviewed surveillance video and determined that stolen pickup trucks were used in both cases.

Both pickups have been recovered.

Police would like to hear from anyone with information or dashcam video, and is asking anyone who is regularly out overnight to report suspicious activity. Call Oceanside RCMP at 250-248-6111.
