North Cowichan father believed to be evading police after breaching custody order

North Cowichan RCMP are seeking the public’s help locating a father who in breach of a custody order and believed to be actively evading police.

North Cowichan RCMP are seeking the public’s help locating a father who in breach of a custody order and believed to be actively evading police.

Jesse Bennett, 36, and his seven-year-old daughter, Violet Bennett, were reported missing Sunday afternoon, three days after a family court established a joint custody agreement and ordered Bennett to return Violet to her mother on Jan. 20.

On Sunday, family told police Bennett and Violet were missing from their North Cowichan home.

Police have not been able to make contact with Bennett and believe he is evading officers.

Bennett is described as white, five-foot-10, 160 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair or a shaved head and a beard. Violet is white, about four feet tall and 50 to 60 pounds, with blue eyes and curly blond hair.

Anyone with information on pair’s whereabouts is asked to contact the North Cowichan RCMP at 250-748-5522 or their local police department.
