Doors were locked briefly at four Saanich schools Tuesday after a report that someone saw what might have been two youths with a gun.

A hold-and-secure procedure was put in effect at Spectrum Community School, Colquitz Middle School, Marigold Elementary School and St. Joseph’s Elementary School.

During a hold-and-secure, outside doors are locked and activity inside carries on as usual.

A person driving on the Trans-Canada Highway thought they might have seen the gun as they looked up at the overpass in the area.

Saanich police were called at 10:08 a.m. They did not find anybody with a gun.

The hold-and-secure ended about 10:50 a.m.
