Royal Roads University hosted National Indigenous Peoples Day celebrations on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen (Songhees) and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) First Nations on Tuesday, including a Traditional Canoe Landing Protocol and welcoming ceremony, the Lekwungen Celebration Song, and Indigenous food. The event also featured art, storytelling, interactive showcases, field games, craft workshops, vendors market, performances and traditional-plant walks.
