UPDATE: Police say Jolene Scott has been located

Nanaimo RCMP are working to locate 31-year-old Jolene Scott after a family member reported her missing Saturday.

She hasn’t had any contact with her family since last summer, and then in April she suddenly sent a picture of her herself boarding a B.C. Ferries vessel.

That recent gesture following months without contact has her family very worried for her well-being, police said.

Scott is of no fixed address and is known to frequent emergency shelters around Nanaimo, police said. She could also be staying at encampments in the bush.

She is described as Indigenous, five-foot-two and 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She has a mole by her lip on the left side of her mouth and a scar over her left eye.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345
