A Nanaimo man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Victoria woman on Monday.
Nanaimo RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance outside a south Nanaimo home about 10 p.m.
Denise Allick, 40, was found dead from injuries.
Simon Baker, 21, was arrested without incident a short time later.
He remains in custody and was scheduled for a Wednesday court appearance.
Police said they do not know why Allick was in Nanaimo and there has not been any confirmation that she and Baker knew each other. They would like to speak to anyone who has information on her presence in Nanaimo.
