A man arrested in connection with an incident where a passenger pulled a knife on a bus driver is wanted in Ontario on charges including attempted murder, assault with a weapon and breaking-and-entering, Victoria police say.

The arrest was made after police released photos of the suspect in the Sept. 15 incident from surveillance video.

An officer recognized the suspect as someone who had had previous interactions with police at a park in the 1400-block of Pandora Avenue. When police identified him, they learned he was wanted in Ontario.

The suspect was arrested in the 900-block of Pandora and transported to police cells, where he will be held for potential remand to Ontario.

Police said it was unclear why the man was not previously in custody.
