Hot liquid was thrown on people in two separate incidents in the downtown area, Victoria police say.

The first incident happened about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at a bus stop in the 1200-block of Douglas Street, between View and Yates streets. A female teenager was sitting at the stop when the liquid, possibly coffee, was thrown on her legs by an unknown person.

About 10 minutes later a woman crossing Douglas between Johnson Street and Pandora Avenue also had hot liquid thrown on her legs by an unknown person.

One of the victims was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was on the west side of Douglas in the 1200- to 1400-block from 4:15 to 5 p.m. Call 250-995-7654, extension 1 with any information.

In a similar incident Oct. 26 in the 900-block of Yates Street, a mother and a baby in a stroller had coffee tossed on them by a stranger who also yelled an obscenity. The coffee was not hot enough to cause any injuries.
