Fugitive believed to be in Victoria area

Victoria police are renewing a call for help finding a fugitive after his parole identification was found at the Saanich Fair.

Victoria police are renewing a call for help finding a fugitive after his parole identification was found at the Saanich Fair.

Dezmond White, 22, failed to return to his Surrey halfway house, where he was serving a sentence for break and enter, uttering threats and firearms offences stemming from a 2010 case in Victoria and Saanich.

White is wanted on a Canadawide warrant over the revocation of his parole, and police said they believe he is still in the area.

White is six feet tall and about 180 pounds with blue eyes and short, brown hair. He has tattoos on his arms, chest and back, and the word "west" on his right hand and "side" on his left.

Police say White has a long history of violence and should not be confronted.

Anyone with information on White is asked to call 911 or contact Det. Shawn Robson at shawn.robson@vicpd.ca.
