Former Victoria councillor Jeremy Loveday will join the executive of Destination Greater Victoria next week as its director of public affairs.
Loveday, who served two terms on council, will also have responsibility for destination stewardship and sustainability.
When he starts work Monday, Loveday will lead the organization’s sustainability efforts as well as handling government relations. He will also work on affordable-housing initiatives for hotel and hospitality workers.
Loveday was a city appointee to Destination Greater Victoria’s board of directors in 2019 and 2020.
Destination Greater Victoria also added Kathleen Mahamad as its account manager for member services and Bernard Rechico as a travel trade specialist.
