Esthetics tool stolen

A late-night break-in at a Colwood business yielded a $170,000 piece of skin-treatment equipment.

A late-night break-in at a Colwood business yielded a $170,000 piece of skin-treatment equipment. Police said one or more people climbed a ladder to the second-storey window of MD Esthetics, a medical laser and skin clinic at Colwood Corners, at about 11 p.m. Thursday. They cut through a window and made off with a machine used to treat veins and remove moles and skin blemishes. The equipment weighed more than 90 kilograms and measured 1.2 metres high and a half-metre wide and deep. "You can be pretty sure someone didn't just roll it down the street," said RCMP Cpl. Gerry Sutherland. An RCMP dog was unable to find a track. Anyone with information is asked to call the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
