February 2, 1943 -July 28, 2012

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Tena Hollinger announces her passing at the age of 69 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Jeff (Nicole), Sandra (Richard), Darren (Olivia), Sherri (Rob), Angela (Derek), and Carol (Don); twenty five grandchildren; her mother Margaret; her sister Maureen; as well as numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors. Tena was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Wilfred "Sonny" and her father Harry.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation to be held at Pierson's Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 -17 Ave SE) on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Suite 200-325 Manning Rd NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2P5).

ALLEN, Willard Finlay

Born in London, Ontario on May 15th, 1924 and died Victoria, BC on July 25th, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Audrey; their four children, Steven (Connie), Anne (Ian Duncan), Eric (Karen Godwin), and Mary (Bryan Bonell) and their lovely grandchildren, Nora, Rachel, Madeleine and Kate. Willard grew up in Ontario where he earned a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Toronto in 1948. He and Audrey then moved to Alberta where they raised their family and he taught at the University of Alberta. Retiring in 1986, they moved to Victoria and enjoyed many years of family, friends and travels. Willard was a friend to all who knew him; his wisdom and wit will be missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday August 2, St. David by the Sea, Anglican Church, 5182 Cordova Bay Rd., Victoria, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation ( www.heartandstroke.bc.ca)or to the charity of your choice.

BAINBRIDGE, Mary 1922 -2012 Mary passed away July 25th, at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Al and survived by her children Doug (Norma), Pat (Al), Dianne (Bob), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She lived a full and happy life and will be missed and forever loved.

BRADLEY, Leslie Alfred "Dick" July 26 2012 Passed away peacefully with his beloved son, Mark and daughter in law, Shawna at his bedside on the afternoon of July 26, 2012. BURKE, Rosalie

December 13, 1939 -July 29, 2012

Rosalie Burke passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012. In spite of all her personal hardships she endured over the past year, she soldiered on with her usual determination, unwavering hope and big smile. Her positive influence on others is evidenced by her large circle of friends. Lee will be remembered by her strong faith, her sense of style and for her ability to bring out the best in people.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 3rd, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1155 Fort Street, Victoria.

YUEN, Yet Ping

1913 -2012

Our loving mother died peacefully on July 26th. Yet Ping Yuen (nee Chan) was born in Sun Poy, China. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her daughter, Jing and son, Ming to reunite with her husband, Chong Wing Yuen. In Victoria, she started a new life where her children, Lauren, Karen, Daryl and Sharyn were born. She was further blessed with sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived an amazing long life. Forever grateful to the staff at the Victoria Chinatown Care Centre who gave her such special care. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.mccallbros.com.

HAY, James McBay

Jim passed away suddenly on July 28th, 2012 at the age of 75. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cathy; and sons Neil (Catherine), Colin, his much loved grandsons Cameron and Duncan, his adopted daughter Kathleen (Alasdair) and granddaughter Delany. Jim was born on May 19th, 1937 in Aberdeen, Scotland. He started his career in shipbuilding and later served with the Royal Engineers in Germany from 1958 to 1960. Jim and Cathy were married in 1965 and they emigrated to Canada in 1966. Jim worked mostly in the oil & gas industry. He retired from Syncrude Canada in 1994, and moved to Victoria. After 2001, he worked for the Commissionaires. He loved Robert Burns. He was a life long mason and was particularly fond of his association with the Fort McMurray Lodge 195. In his earlier years he was a competitive swimmer and diver, later reading, golf, and running kept him busy. He is remembered as a much loved husband, father, and grandfather.

At Jim's request there will be no funeral service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

HOLMES, Muriel Catherine

Passed away peacefully on July 29, 2012 at the age of 98 in Victoria, BC. Muriel was born on June 21, 1914 in Courtney, BC. Muriel was the daughter of James and Alice Holmes (nee Skinner) and granddaughter of James Burnard Holmes an early pioneer of Comox, BC. She was a long time employee of Gulf Canada and the British American Oil Company Limited. Muriel spent her retirement years living in James Bay. She was a long standing member of the Anglican Church of Canada. Special thanks to Dr. Caroll and the staff of Mount Edwards Court as well a special thanks to Dr. Elder and his staff ; Lori, Liz and Vicki.

SHAW, Gerald "Gerry" Gaetan

Died peacefully with family present July 31, 2012 at 99. Born in Montreal and raised in a rural Saskatchewan train station he made the CPR his life's work and retired as regional manager Prairie region CP Telecommunications. He married his 'best girl' Betty Angus in 1946 and with her raised children Earl (Patty), Graham (Linda), and Mardie (Larry). Grampa to Libby, Paul, Karen, Gerald, Robert, Emily and Lorne. Avid curler, music lover, handy man, and problem solver. Thanks to RJH staff and physicians in Emergency andonEightNaswellat Healthpoint for the compassionate care of our father and Grampa.
