A deceased man was found by someone out for a walk about 7 a.m Friday at the side of Nanaimo’s Harewood Mines Road, just south of the Nanaimo Parkway overpass.
Nanaimo RCMP were called and closed off both lanes of the road before clearing the scene after several hours. The B.C. Coroners Service also attended.
Police have identified the individual as a 34-year-old white man of no fixed address, and says his family has been notified.
While the investigation is in its early stages, police said the man’s injuries are consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
