A warrant has been issued for a man accused of sexual assault of a Nanoose Bay resident on July 30.

RCMP said the assault occurred during a break-in at a home along Morello Road.

A suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, and released with a court date. However, police said the man gave them a false name.

Oceanside RCMP have identified the man as Quinten Anthony Meyer, 27. An arrest warrant has been issued and police are searching for Meyer.

He has been charged with break-and-enter, sexual assault, assault with a weapon and obstructing a police officer, RCMP said.

Meyer is described as white, five-foot-10 and 160 pounds with blue eyes, blond hair shaved on both sides, and a skull tattoo on his left hand.

RCMP said Meyer has family connections on Vancouver Island, and in the Okanagan and Calgary.

Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call police. Oceanside RCMP can be reached at 250-248-6111.
