Armed man with distinct waddle robs Nanaimo pizzeria

A man who robbed a Domino's Pizza outlet in Nanaimo was described as 35 to 50 years old and about six feet one inch tall. He had acne scars on his face and an unusually high-pitched raspy voice.

Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the man who robbed a Domino’s Pizza at gunpoint on Saturday night.

The man walked into the pizza place at 3394 Norwell Drive around 9:15 p.m., pulled out a gun and demanded cash, said Nanaimo RCMP spokesman Const. Gary O’Brien.

Staff handed over cash and the man fled on a silver and blue mountain bike. Employees called 911 and watched as the robber pedalled east along Ross Road.

Police were in the area within minutes but could not find the man.

The man was caught on video surveillance and is described as white, 200 to 250 pounds, 35 to 50 years old and about six-foot-one.

The man had acne scars on his face and had an unusually high-pitched raspy voice. He wore black sunglasses, a black hoodie with a green plaid jacket over top and grey sweat pants. The man also appeared to walk with a distinct waddle.
