Ashley Bontje and her baby, Penny, pass by the flower heart at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

Gestures of thanks are popping up around town for health-care workers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. A flower heart outside Saanich Peninsula Hospital was donated by Eurosa Farms to thank medical staff working at the hospital during the crisis.

And a movement is afoot to put up Christmas lights showing support for front-line health-care workers and everyone serving the public.
