Frost sharpens fall colours in northeast U.S

New Hampshire officials say frost in the Great North Woods region has sharpened the colours and brought that area up to 60 per cent of peak fall foliage.

Meanwhile, in Maine, forest and park rangers are reporting that trees are at least 75 per cent toward their peak colour change, with minimal leaf drop in all of Aroostook County, adjacent to New Brunswick.

High foliage colour between 50 and 75 per cent is being reported in northwest Maine. -
