Keep pyjamas on for music programs, breakfasts in schools

If you need an excuse to keep your pyjamas on this Sunday, head out to brunch in your PJs as part of the second annual #YYJPajamaParty.

If you need an excuse to keep your pyjamas on this Sunday, head out to brunch in your PJs as part of the second annual #YYJPajamaParty.

Twenty-one Victoria-area brunch restaurants will donate a healthy slice of their profits that day to help fund Breakfast2Music initiatives. Along with customers, restaurant staff and event volunteers are invited to wear their best pyjamas and onesies.

The event is organized by Breakfast2Music, a local non-profit group that raises funds for school music programs and healthy breakfasts for kids from low-income families who might come to school hungry.

Participating businesses include 5th St. Wood Fired Rotisserie, Blue Fox Café, Crooked Goose Bistro, Cup of Joe, Demitasse, Fernwood Inn, Fireside Grill, Floyd’s Diner, Il Fuego Old Town Eastery, Heron Rock Bistro, Hot and Cold Café, Little June Café, Moka House, Northern Quarter, Nourish, Pizzeria Prima Strada (Cook Street location), Pluto’s, Shine Café, The Village and Vista 18.

The event also includes performances at the Government House Bandshell, 1401 Rockland Ave., from noon to 2 p.m. Kids will be served pancakes, and Louise Rose and Bucan Bucan will perform live music.

Last year, Breakfast2Music was able to support programs at 10 local schools with the close to $20,000 they raised from this event and others.
