Teachers and students can learn about the webbased Genealogy in the Classroom resource. Others may want to take advantage of the society's weekly genealogy workshops.

The non-profit volunteer society's aim is to further the study of genealogy - the search for one's ancestors and family history.

Their website offers online research tools such as the Greater Victoria Pioneer Index to promote the history of Victoria's early residents.

The open house is free and open to all ages. It runs 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the society's library and resource centre at 947 Alston St. For more information, go to victoriags.org or phone 250-360-2808.
