Kayaker pulled from water off Discovery Island

Search and rescue personnel pulled a man out of the water near Commodore Point on Discovery Island Monday about 7:30 p.m. The man was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was being treated for hypothermia. He was reported missing at about 5:30 p.

Search and rescue personnel pulled a man out of the water near Commodore Point on Discovery Island Monday about 7:30 p.m.

The man was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was being treated for hypothermia.

He was reported missing at about 5:30 p.m. when he didn’t return with his rented pedal-powered craft.

Discovery Island is located off the eastern side of Vancouver Island and is viewable from Ten Mile Point.
