Photo Gallery: From tearing down to building up

After weeks of tearing down walls and ceilings, pulling out wires, digging dirt and cutting out pipes, we are finally starting to see our renovated spaces take shape.

After weeks of tearing down walls and ceilings, pulling out wires, digging dirt and cutting out pipes, we are finally starting to see our renovated spaces take shape. Our new rooms have been framed, rewired, insulated and the drywalling is nearing completion. The bath tubs and showers have also been roughed-in, the fireplaces have been installed and most of our new windows are in place.

Six weeks into the project, we discovered moisture seeping through the foundation walls into our basement -- which had started to foster mould. It was something that had to be fixed immediately. So, for nine days, this work diverted our contractor, Dave Rannala, and his crew from our project's planned timeline.

Not to worry. Based on past experience, Dave had added a little "wiggle room" for setbacks into the schedule. So, going into wek 12 -- just past the half-way mark -- we're still on schedule. That means the renovations should be completed by the last week of March.

We thought this might be a good time to show you how the interior of the house has changed.
