In the spirit of human unity, central to the Baha'i faith, everyone is invited to a musical performance Sunday at Alix Goolden Hall.

A performance called A Luminous Journey, featuring music, art and drama, will be presented.

Music and choir director Gergana Velinova said the performance will commemorate the 1912 visit of Baha'i founder Abdu'l Baha to North America.

Velinova, a Baha'i herself, said Baha made waves during his visit, opening his arms to AfroAmerican and Caucasian children alike, during a time when segregation was still widespread.

The performance is meant to tell the story about the visit and relate something of the Baha'i faith.

"We want anybody who wants to come to feel what it was like to meet this extraordinary person," Velinova said.

The performance is at Alix Goolden Hall, 907 Pandora Ave. A reception begins at 3 p.m.; performance at 4 p.m. Admission is free.
