Singer-guitarist Adrian Chalifour of Victoria will compete with musicians from across Canada in the second season of The Launch, a six-episode talent contest that premières Jan. 30 on CTV.

Chalifour, frontman for local rockers Towers and Trees, will appear in the March 6 episode of the series, in which 30 artists work on their music with help from mentors such as Bryan Adams, Jann Arden and Sarah McLachlan, among others.

Chalifour taped his appearance on the show last year, with help from guest mentors that included Grammy nominee Bebe Rexha and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Nile Rodgers.

Chalifour is competing for the chance to have one of his original songs air on radio across the country, with backing from executive producer Scott Borchetta, who discovered Taylor Swift.

Contestants are guided through the audition process and given assistance on performing and recording from producers behind hits by Drake, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Chainsmokers.

Ain’t Easy, the hit single from last year’s Launch winners, Elijah Woods and Jamie Fine, won the duo an award for best new Canadian artist at the 2018 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards.
