You have to give author and humourist David Sedaris credit for trying to make it to Victoria, even if he’s been unsuccessful in several attempts.

The New York Times best-selling author’s appearance at the Royal Theatre on Nov. 6 has been postponed for a third time. An Evening with David Sedaris was previously set for the Royal Theatre on Sept. 20, 2020, but that date was moved due to the pandemic to May 16, 2020. A second postponement resulted in the re-scheduled Nov. 6 event, which has been moved to an as-yet-unannounced spot in 2022.

In a statement on its website, the theatre said the event was cancelled “due to the rapidly changing nature of live events at this time.”

Sedaris, 64, is on the road to support his 2018 collection of essays Calypso, which was named book of the year by The Washington Post.

Tickets for his Victoria appearance that were purchased via credit card will be automatically refunded to the card. Those who purchased tickets by cash, cheque, or debit card will be contacted by organizers.

For more information, contact the Royal Theatre box office at tickets@rmts.bc.ca or by phone at 250-386-6121.
