Live music is set to return with a bang this summer, as the Squamish Constellation Festival has officially released its lineup for July 22 to 24, which includes heavy hitters July Talk, the Black Pumas and local icon Sarah McLachlan.

“This summer marks a welcome return for live music in British Columbia. I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of Squamish Constellation Festival,” said McLachlan, in a news release.

The singer will be headlining the three-day event Sunday, July 24.

“We all benefit from live music and collectively need it now more than ever,” she added. “The essence of Constellation, which brings people together in community to celebrate not only the arts, but one another, is something I deeply connect with and am proud to be a part of.”

The West Coast music event is making its comeback since restrictions shut down public gatherings, with live music taking perhaps one of the biggest blows.

However, this summer, the multi-genre festival will be doing its part to revive that scene.

The three-day, two-stage event will have Canadian rockers July Talk headline Friday night.

That day will have Lights, Dear Rouge, Yukon Blonde, Moontricks, PIQSIQ, Jessia, Blonde Diamond, Fake Shark and Mauvey.

Austin-based psychedelic rockers and Grammy Award-nominees, the Black Pumas, will be the main feature on Saturday, which will see performances from Black Pistol Fire, Andy Shauf, Whitehorse, William Prince, Haley Blais, Hotel Mira, Ashleigh Ball, Lowdown Brass Band, Hyaenas and Coastal Wolf Pack ((Tsatsu Stalqyu).

Finally, the main headliner, singer-songwriter, multi-Grammy and Juno Award-winner, McLachlan, will make the grand send-off that Sunday.

The final day will also include music from Ocie Elliott, Jarvis Church, Terra Lightfoot, Teddy Thompson, iskwē, Daniel Wesley, Old Soul Rebel, Pharis & Jason Romero, Miesha and the Spanks, Skye Wallace and Out East.
