LOS ANGELES — Emma Watson, rumoured to be starring in the bondage flick 50 Shades of Grey, is shutting those rumours down.

The Harry Potter star may be breaking with her brainy Hermione Granger image in her upcoming film The Bling Ring, which has her involved in some burglary, drinking and hard partying on-screen, but she hasn’t gone that far.

Watson was rumoured to be cast in the starring role of Anastasia Steele, an ingenue who enters into a contract with a mysterious young chief executive named Christian Grey to participate in a bondage-filled, dominant-submissive sexual relationship. News broke about the casting when the online collective Anonymous reportedly hacked into German studio Constantin Film’s internal server earlier this month and posted a document that said Watson was attached to the upcoming adaptation of an E L James bestselling, ultra-steamy book series.

Despite casting reports and the hacked documents, Watson made it clear that she wasn’t interested in the sexually explicit role.

“Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life?” Watson tweeted Saturday, adding on Sunday, “Good. That’s sorted then.”

But this isn’t the first time The Perks of Being a Wallflower star has been linked with the film. She already shut down rumours over the summer about her involvement in the likely NC-17-rated flick.

“I haven’t read the book, I haven’t a read a script, nothing,” the 22-year-old told Entertainment Weekly last summer

“There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo — I never even saw a script.” she said. “I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn’t mean it’s any less true than if there are three or four.”

E L James also took to Twitter to round out the “party of no” statements.

“There have been no casting decisions made about Fifty Shades,” James tweeted Sunday.

And, according to E! News, casting for the film hasn’t even started yet. As it turns out, Watson was simply on the producers’ wish list, Gossip Cop reported.
