Metric to kick off North American tour in Victoria this August

The band will donate $1 from each ticket to the PLUS1 initiative, which supports War Child and their work to empower children and families worldwide in communities affected by war.

Metric is kicking off its 39-city Doomscroller tour in Victoria this summer, with shows at the Royal Theatre set for Aug 11 and 12.

The three-time Juno Award winners, whose hits include Gold, Guns, Girls and Breathing Underwater, are trekking across Canada and the U.S. in support of their eighth studio album, Formentera, which is set for release on July 8. Vancouver’s Dear Rouge is tapped as the opening act for the Victoria dates.

Tickets go on sale May 6 at 10 a.m. through the Royal Theatre box office at rmts.bc.ca. They also go on sale through livenation.com and ticketmaster.ca.
